Quick and easy no bake oatmeal cookie recipe

πŸ‘‘Some people refer to these cookies as no-bake cookies or mud pies but I grew up knowing it to be called an oatmeal cookie. Just making these cookies brings back so many memories of my momma. This traditional and old-school recipe came straight from her cookbook and I am sharing it with you because I don’t want her or her recipes to be forgotten. Quick, easy and sweet: that’s what makes it the best recipe!

Seven ingredient no bake oatmeal cookie recipe

The Best No Bake Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

1 stick – butter

1/2 cup – evaporated milk

1/4 cup – cocoa

2 cups – sugar

2 1/2 cups – oatmeal (quick oats)

1/2 cup – peanut butter

1 tsp. – vanilla

In a pot bring to a boil the butter, milk, cocoa and sugar for about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the oatmeal, peanut butter and vanilla. Blend thoroughly. By the spoonful drop onto wax paper (mine were a little larger than a spoonful so it made the cookies bigger). Let it cool or refrigerate.
