10 Fun Things to do at Gatorland in Orlando, Florida

fun things to do at Gatorland theme park in Orlando Florida

👑Trademarked as “Alligator Capital of the World”, Gatorland in Orlando, Florida is exactly what it sounds like: a park full of gators. What you don’t realize (unless you’ve been there before) is that there is so much more there than what you would expect. Since our granddaughter loves reptiles, we decided to visit Gatorland during our 2021 Orlando trip. Little did we know that it would be an all-day gator adventure.

1 – Feed the gators. You can buy the gator food and feed almost every gator in the park. Trust me, feeding the gators is a lot more fun than what it sounds like. We had to buy gator food a few times that day.

2 – Zipline across the park. There are two ziplines experiences available, The Screamin’ Gator and the Gator Gauntlet.

3 – Check out a gator show. Take your pick or see all of them but I definitely recommend the “Legends of the Swamp”. Gator handlers actually put on a great show and educate people about gators at the same time.

4 – Go on a swamp walk. You will enjoy the shade of the swamp walk along with learning about the different plants and trees that are surrounding you along the walk.

5 – Reserve a off-road buggy ride. One of the newest attractions at Gatorland: Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure lets you experience the natural beauty of the park from a custom-made monster vehicle.

6 – Visit flamingo island. Buy some food pellets to feed the flamingos. They may be relaxing in the shade but if you throw them some food pellets, they start to get active.

7 – Ride the train. Tour the park in an open-aired locomotive while relaxing.

8 – Visit the petting zoo. There are some unique animals that you can feed and pet in this zoo like one of the largest rodents I’ve ever seen!

9 – Cool off in the splash zone. Let the kids cool off and get away from the hot summer heat at Gator Gully Splash Park.

10 – Get your photo taken with a real gator or snake. Don’t leave without getting a photo. You can get one holding a small gator or snake or you can get one like my granddaughter, Talia, did below.

Now don’t get me wrong, I didn’t list everything because there is a lot more but I wanted to give you a general idea of just some of the fun things that are available. It’s a great place to visit for all ages and I can’t wait to visit again with all three of my grandkids!
