👑Blowing Rock, North Carolina is a great place to visit for a weekend getaway. Not only do you get the beautiful mountain views, but there are also plenty of fun things to do. Come see where we stayed and some of fun places we visited during our weekend excursion to Blowing Rock, North Carolina.

Our weekend getaway started with booking a room at The Manor.

We had never visited Blowing Rock as a couple, so we decided to find a room when we blew into town (pun intended). I don’t recommend doing that because when you visit tourist hotspots, rooms tend to get booked really quick, but we got lucky. We stayed at The Manor which is costs a little more than average, but the comfort and location was worth every penny.

Of course, we had to visit The Blowing Rock.

It wouldn’t make sense to stay in Blowing Rock without visiting The Blowing Rock. It’s much more than just a rock to look at. There are spectacular mountain views, nature trails, a photo gallery/museum and a small relaxing waterfall to enhance the experience.

Next up is the hidden mystery of Mystery Hill.

An unexplained mystery is exactly what we found at Mystery Hill. There really aren’t any words that can describe this strange gravitational phenomenon, but it is something that you need to experience at least once. You can visit the Native American Artifact Museum, test your axe throwing skills or ride the mechanical bull just to name a few other fun things to do.

Right up the road from Mystery Hill is our next stop, Tweetsie Railroad.

Tweetsie Railroad is known for being North Carolina’s first theme park. This park is great for adults and kids alike. There are plenty of rides, shows, animals to feed and shops to keep you busy for the day.

#4 – Grandfather Mountain

Right down the road in Linville, is home to the swinging bridge at Grandfather Mountain. You will receive a CD or drive at the entrance so that you can listen to guided tour as you drive up the mountain. You can see the Split & Spinx rocks, the famous Forrest Gump Curve, wildlife habitats and the Wilson Center for Nature Discovery on your way to the swinging bridge.

#5 – Linville Caverns

Last but definitely not the least is the Linville Caverns in Marion, North Carolina. It is about an hour’s drive, but it is worth the drive to visit. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any bats, but the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the caverns and the stalactites in the cave.
