Beyond Van Gogh and Beyond Monet represent a new frontier in art appreciation, blending traditional masterpieces with cutting-edge digital technology. These exhibits do more than showcase famous paintings—they transport you into the very essence of the artists’ worlds.
The Greenville Convention Center is where I was able to experience the larger-than-life paintings as you walk through to get to the digital show.
As we entered into the area of the digital show, there were screens on both sides and in the middle. It really was magical to see the paintings come to life right in front of us. Birds were flying through the air while ships sailed the oceans. The music matched each scene as it transformed from one painting to the next.
The only drawbacks were that it didn’t seem to be very organized, the ratio of seating to the number of people in the viewing area was not correct, and there wasn’t as much Van Gogh as I was expecting. It seemed that it showed more Monet than Van Gogh and for the combo price, I expected it to be more balanced. It only lasted about an hour and overall, I enjoyed the experience. Would I recommend going? If you have an appreciation for art and paintings, then I definitely would recommend it.
