Back To School Supplies That Are Great For Donating

back to school supplies for classroom donations helping school children

👑Getting back to school has been hard for students, parents, teachers and schools since March of 2020 but slowly things are opening back up for some areas in the country. One thing that hasn’t changed is the need for school supplies in the classrooms. Every year you can find a teacher that is in need of simple school supplies for the classroom.

You don’t have to have a child in school to be able to donate supplies.

When you donate supplies to a classroom, not only are you helping a teacher but you are helping a child. If you don’t have a child in school, there are still ways that you can donate. Maybe you have grandchildren, friends with children or neighbors with children. You can always call your local school district and ask about what supplies would be the most beneficial for the classrooms. It’s not hard to find a classroom to donate to if you are really wanting to help.

Listed below are some of the school supplies that you can donate to help in the classroom.

Cleaning supplies include: hand sanitizer – disinfecting wipes – disposable gloves – white board cleaner

Writing supplies include: #2 pencils – erasers – highlighters – dry erase markers – colored pencils

Paper supplies include: notebook paper – construction paper – sticky notes – facial tissue

Keep in mind the needs of the classroom.

If you are donating to a specific classroom, make sure you know how many children are in the class and if there are any specific items needed. Different age groups have different needs so you want to make sure you provide the right type of donations.

Another option would be to send a gift card but I recommend talking with the school and/or teacher to make sure that it is okay for teachers to accept gift cards for buying classroom supplies. Some schools may have policies that prohibit gift cards but may have other options available like online classroom “wish lists” that you can support.

Crafting supplies: crayons – washable markers – glue – scissors

Other useful supplies: pencil sharpener – zipper pouch – communication folder – calendar pocket chart

Remember that supply donations not only help the children but it helps the teachers as well. According to AdoptAClassroom.org, 96% of teachers buy classroom supplies just to make sure a child has what they need. That’s why it’s important that we all chip in to give children the resources that they need to be successful in school.

Make sure you donate because every little bit counts!
